The Food Monster

This morning I woke up to a recognisable beeping sound that made me spring out of bed. I could hear the tv on so EB was already awake and up to mischief. I raced out into the loungeroom to find Emmi-Belle enjoying her “breakfast”. She had trashed the loungeroom as usual and was eating left over pasta from the night before, straight from the container. I head to the kitchen to stop the annoying beeping coming from the fridge only to find she had managed to drag a heavy bench seat over to reach the fridge lock, work out the lock and help herself to a smorgasbord of refrigerated goodies.

Emmi-Belle doesn’t eat too many foods, in fact I can probably count on 2 hands all foods she does eat but when it comes to eating those foods she is a non-stop devouring machine! EB eats so much that we literally have locks on our pantry and fridge.

Having a six year old though that has the ability to work out the combination or figure out how to open the “kid proof” lock can sometimes mean we find her hiding in a corner surrounded by half eaten bananas and covered in the remnants of a cold, saucy ravioli she had inhaled 2 minutes earlier.

Just another #autismlife moment I guess.

If anyone does however know of a fridge lock that could potentially be Emmi proof please let me know in the comments and help a Mamma out lol.
