A home grown breakfast...
I think when I am older and our kids are grown I would like to own a simple bed and breakfast in the country where people come to get away from the craziness of life and come back to enjoying the simple things. We will grow our own food and look after mistreated animals.
I love to cook and I LOVE to grow my own food. At the moment I have lettuce, tomatoes, chilies, capsicum, egg plant, pumpkin, watermelon, mandarins, oranges, lemons, limes, lychees, mangos, apples, mulberry’s, papaya, lemonades, nectarines, spinach, macadamia nuts and a bunch of different herbs. We also have chooks that provide us with amazing eggs.
In the mornings we head down to the yard and grab what we can for breakfast and/or our lunches for the day. This morning I felt like going all out and decided to make a fancy breakfast for the cousins, Chris and T. Most of the ingredients were from the yard which was pretty cool. See below the masterpiece that was our Saturday morning breakfast 👌🏼
A potato rosti made with home laid eggs and fresh herbs on a bed of vine ripened tomato’s, topped with a home laid free range egg, a balsamic glaze and a garlic basil oil. On the side we had smoked salmon or bacon and a wedge of lime.
The girls were pretty impressed with my skills 🙌🏼
